Our Mission

The mission of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Bermuda, a charitable organization, is to entertain and educate the community by producing professional quality amateur theatrical works and to support the education of performing arts students.

G&S is one of Bermuda's premier producers and presenters of musical theatre.

Since its inception in 1972, we have grown to become one of the most successful performing arts organisations in Bermuda. We entertain over 4,000 theatre goers every year.

Today, G&S is more than the unforgettable productions it brings to Bermuda.

- It's the scores of Volunteers - in the box office, backstage and in the front of house.
- It's the G&S Scholarship given annually to a local student dedicated to pursuing the theatre arts.
- It's a level of professionalism rarely aspired to in amateur theatre.
- And it's our Patrons programmes where audience members support the ongoing quality of our productions as well as contribute to G&S' scholarship efforts.

G&S is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre

G&S is a volunteer organisation from the organising committee on down. If you would like to get involved at any level, please complete our Volunteer form, send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 441.735.1547.

Bring the highest quality live dramatic arts performances to Bermuda!

Be a part of the Opera program!

And, most importantly, make a dramatic difference for the youth of Bermuda!

Our Society is committed to bringing live theatre of the highest artistic quality to the shores of Bermuda, from musical theatre like our recent production of South Pacific to fine dramatic performances such as Animal Farm and The History Boys.

In addition the Society is also committed to making available to Bermuda cultural events of the utmost

More importantly, however, the Society engages in performing arts programmes and scholarships that give Bermuda’s young people a unique, invaluable chance to learn and grow.

Our Patrons’ programme gives you the chance to play a major role and entitles you to valuable membership rights and other perks. This year, Patrons receive the following valuable items:

  • A ticket to our fall musical production – which can be obtained well in advance of the general public
  • A year’s membership in the Society
  • A featured listing in our show Program and on our website
  • Invitations to exclusive events

Becoming a Patron couldn’t be easier. Contact us and provide your information and we will follow up.

Please join us as a patron and help us to embrace our mission to create educational and recreational opportunities for our community. In 2012, Patron support brought a positive influence of the performing arts into the lives of more than 100 of Bermuda’s youth. With your help, we will extend that reach.

From acting, singing and dancing to hip-hop and poetry, performing arts programmes help young people develop the confidence and self-esteem that can carry them through their entire lives. They make new friends, discover hidden talents, gain an appreciation for the arts and build skills in communication and presentation.

In addition, our Theatre Arts Scholarship has continued to provide support for young people studying overseas.

It’s your generous support that helps us make such a dramatic difference. Won’t you please consider becoming a Patron? And, if you already participate, perhaps you might increase your contribution?

Help us keep the curtain from going down on Bermuda’s youth.

If you have enjoyed one of our productions, please become a member and help us continue to provide educational and recreational opportunities in musical theatre to the local community
